Here I have included some helpful resources for Mental Health Support, Mental Illness, LGBTQ support, Social Support, Trauma, Grief, & Addiction. As I am Australian, initially I will mostly be posting links to Aussie based Mental Health, Mental Illness and Addiction support on this page. If you are not from Australia and have some great resources you would like to see on here then please contact me and I will endeavour to add them.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis at the moment, first of all I want you to know you are not alone and there are people who want to help you get through it, me included! Please see our HELP IN A CRISIS page for more appropriate links and phone numbers for crisis services in Australia and Overseas.
If your life is in danger, please contact your local EMERGENCY SERVICES immediately. (Australia ‘000’, US ‘911’, UK ‘999’)
From alcohol and substance abuse through to gambling and sex addiction, addictions impact a huge amount of Australians everyday. If you or a loved one are battling with addiction, help is available! Below I have listed some support and information resources that may be useful.
The addiction centre is a comprehensive site and excellent information hub covering everything from treatment options to general information and statistics about a massive variety of addictions. This is not primarily and Australian site, but the page: Addiction in Australia has some excellent information for Australian residents.
Australia Private Rehab Facilities:
These are treatment centres in Australia run by private companies. These are not covered by medicare and will incur steep fees. Please contact the centres directly to find out how their costing system works and if private health insurance can be used at all.
This is a section I am working on building currently, if you can recommend any resources then please contact me, thank you!
